‘Golfing Fore a Great Cause’ at Topgolf raises $10,290

The Guardian ad Litem Foundation, 20th Judicial Circuit, raised $10,290 at Golfing Fore a Great Cause, a fundraising event at Topgolf that raised money for programs benefiting children and teens in foster care.Golfing Fore a Great Cause featured an evening of golf, entertainment, prizes and hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds support the foundation’s Children’s Needs Program, which helps pay for “extras” like birthday parties, tutoring, summer camp programs, new clothing, movie tickets, and registration fees for clubs and sports.“Many attendees had not yet visited Topgolf, so Golfing Fore a Great Cause provided them with a VIP golf experience while still raising money to support the children we serve,” said Jessica Stanfield, the foundation’s executive director. “Fundraising events typically are formal affairs, so this was a more relaxed atmosphere to introduce attendees to our mission, which is ensuring that every abused, neglected or abandoned youth in Southwest Florida has support as they navigate the judicial, education and child welfare systems.”The foundation provides support for court-appointed volunteer child advocates who represent the best interests of a child until a safe, permanent placement is established. The nonprofit also raises funds that help meet a child’s health, educational and social needs.
